Spending Thanksgiving in an emergency room with a friend was not my plan for the day. But this time I am not the one in the bed, and my dear friend Irene is improving rapidly after suffering from horrible vertigo this morning. Probably I will be able to take her home in an hour or so, and my family will take turns staying with her until a Monday followup visit.
