I spent much of the day in an easy chair, staring out the window and waiting for my back to stop hurting. I was delighted to see a pair of common redpolls at the feeders! Other birdwatchers have been reporting them all winter, but these were my first this year.





I never saw a redpoll until coming to Vermont, so seeing them is still special for me.
