Today's pic is an example of my favorite nature photography tip: take the !@#$% pic! Right now! Which means you have to have your camera with you, and accessible, with good batteries. Then take a pic as soon as you see something; focus and zoom and take another. NOW you can walk closer-- and odds are good it'll fly away, as this lovely bird did, and those first two pics will be all you have. I think possibly this was a kestrel.
