Kid and I took a very slow stroll through Kingsland Bay State Park today. This horse and rider had the same idea (they're allowed in the park until formal opening in 6 weeks).
We chatted with the rider for a minute, and seeing our cameras, she commented that the horse is a ham-- always perks his ears forward for a camera. Sure enough, in my pic the rider hadn't yet seen me, but the horse is alert and has his ears towards me. (For the non-horse people, in such circumstances most horses will turn their ears back towards their person-- it's the photographer's bane.)

I did say 'cameras' in the plural. Kidlet has gotten herself a nice new one, nearly equivalent to mine-- suddenly we're taking photography walks together.

We spend some time taking macros of the crocuses.

I'm fond of the striped crocuses, but admit that the previous photo is better.
