Well, that was interesting!

Running errands today. Post office, where I paid cash. Drug store, where I walked through, took my blood pressure, but didn't buy anything. Grocery, where I briefly stepped away from my cart when there was a jam of carts... and then when I went to pay, no wallet.
Double checked. Left my groceries and checked the car. Checked my purse again. Went to customer service to report, and they called police. Police were delayed. Manager, bless her heart, personally paid for my groceries, and added a Coke because my blood sugar was crashing. Police still delayed. Manager sent me home. (Probably nervous about diabetic passing out in office. Probably right to worry-- the reason I was checking my blood pressure is that it is running crazy low; I'm documenting so I can have the doctor change my meds at my appointment Wednesday.)
Home, calmed down, snacked, rested. Kid checked my purse again. Suddenly a light bulb went off-- map pocket in the car DOOR. Went to check. Sure enough, there it is. When I searched my car, physically and emotionally off balance, it was behind me in the door, and I didn't think to look there.
Have called police and grocery, and sent hubby off with a check for the manager. Whew. (He's also picking up subs.)
