Today I was able to bike through two areas that have been flooded for nearly two months. Sadly, most herons moved on to other areas when the water started to rise, but I was delighted to see this one. At least it has lots of food and little competition!





Kid's been painting rocks again-- but the yin/yang is mine.



She had a request for a loon on slate. This one's a bit raw, partly because she changed the coloring-- in my pic this loon's not in breeding plumage.



This one, though-- might be some of her best work lately.
