Pony pulling at Fair today! Pretty much just like horse pulling, only smaller animals. The ponies are higher-strung, though, and more maneuverable.

I sat behind a group of stocky, muscular men in worn jeans, faded t-shirts, and baseball caps. They were discussing something the announcer said, with some confusion, so after a few minutes I leaned forward and sorted it out. They looked at me like I'd grown horns or something-- definitely didn't expect me to know the finer points of pulling. Turns out they were tractor pullers checking out the other kinds of pulling. I don't think it was as much a sexist thing, as the fact that I was dressed Vermont Yuppie rather than Farm Woman.
