Apparently I'm feeling better....
Sep. 6th, 2002 04:01 pmI went shopping today. Not much, but it felt good to have the energy to do something beyond practice, grocery shopping and cooking. Today is the first time since school started that I’ve actually stayed out of bed when the kid left, rather than sneaking back to bed for a few hours’ more sleep. Practiced (I think week #1 without left foot may go okay) and then headed cross-country to the northwest corner of South Bend. That took me through some beautiful countryside-- corn and soybean fields, apple orchards and vineyards, woods and ponds. Even more fun than the shopping, really.
Another sign that I’m feeling better is that I keep forgetting to take my pain meds. This is a mixed blessing, as I’m still at the stage where keeping ahead of the pain is more effective than chasing it; by the time it hurts, it gets bad too quickly for OTC meds to handle, and I’m trying to take Darvocet only at night. The real test of the pain situation will be Saturday night, when I dare not take the Darvocet for fear of being groggy Sunday morning (I’m pretty sure it’s why I’m sleeping so late).
And now, off for more fun.... it’s my 22nd wedding anniversary. Haven’t decided where we are going, but hubby and I are running away for the evening for food and relaxation.
