Methotrexate questions

Folks, a friend of mine is starting on methotrexate and prednisone, and has some questions. I know a few of you have taken or currently take those, can you help her out? Copying her post with permission, and she'll see responses here. Thanks!

"I picked up the prednisone and methotrexate this morning. Took the prednisone. Read all the warnings on the methotrexate and remembered having taken it 10 years ago in conjunction with another medication I can't remember the name of for my tumor. I remember the nausea and mostly remember losing all my hair. I don't know from which drug that was. My oncologist is no longer practicing here, and it'll be hell tracking down those records. I know I'm being stupid, but I think I'll wait until the weekend to start it. Anyone take it or have any bad side effects from it? "

Dinner was wonderful.

Slicing off part of a fingernail and the skin underneath was not wonderful.
