I took two short walks today. On the first I saw five bald eagles, along with many smaller birds.





Here's an immature, camouflaged among branches.



Three more, amazingly close together.



Later the kid and I took a short walk around the back hard, and were delighted to see a hooded merganser at the base of the brook.



Then his mate swam into view (and another pair as well).
