Just pin-basted my quilt top (those little lumps and dimples are the pinned spots). I'm really happy with this little number, which I started just to pass the time when I had no large project in mind. My original inspiration was a large piece of dark lavender fabric with red and blue pinstripes, which I intended to use as border and backing. When I finished the center, though, I saw that the purple fabric overpowered it; my daughter helped me pick out this green border. I mitered the corners, a new skill for me.
As it turns out, Wednesday we hope to buy fabric for a large commission, so the timing is perfect!

I'm trying to decide what to do for our bedroom. I saw something really cool on Pinterest using squared off pieces from fat quarters, which could be really cool, or I could do something in strips. I suppose it depends on what I end up deciding on for material. I'm going for light colors, vintage feeling prints. Mints and pinks (about the only time I can stand pink is with brown or green).
