Gluten free signal?
Oct. 27th, 2013 08:00 pmWell, I'm now among the wheat-free folk, and facing the communion dilemma. I'm lucky, in that my church already offers gluten free wafers, and I have a close enough relationship with my pastor that so far he's remembering me. However, I've already once faced the awkwardness of going to a church where I'm not known. Thankfully they announced that gluten free wafers were available, but it's quite a mood breaker to have to refuse the wheat wafer and speak or gesture to ask for the GF one.
Obviously I'm far from the first person to face this. Has anyone out there come up with a signal, perhaps a different way of holding one's hands, to indicate the need for a GH wafer? Could someone ask on celiac venues for me?
