1. What are your favorite ways to relax and unwind?
TV, listen to music, read (fiction, history, magazines, cookbooks) embroider, play something utterly not-churchy on the piano, sit or walk outdoors someplace beautiful (especially at night).
2. What do you do the moment you get home from work/school/errands?
Drop off my purse, packages, etc. in the appropriate places, check the answering machine, get a glass of water and read for a while.
3. What are your favorite aromatherapeutic smells? Nearly anything herbal or floral; blends with lavender are especially relaxing when I’m stressed. No food smells unless they’re coming from the genuine article in the kitchen!
4. Do you feel more relaxed with a group of friends or hanging out by yourself? I’m probably most relaxed by myself, but being with one or two special people comes in a close second.
5. What is something that you feel is relaxing but most people don't? Laundry and cooking. Both were part of my training in zen meditation, and the habit of doing them attentively, without impatience, has stayed with me. And both yield the satisfaction of knowing that I’m doing something important for my comfort and for my loved ones.
