Oct. 7th, 2002 07:53 pmHad a church staff meeting all day today. Administrative board may never let the entire staff gather in one place again-- we rewrote the church mission statement, and unanimously approved a statement requesting that Ad. board begin exploring the possibility of remodelling or rebuilding the church sanctuary. (It’s too small, not handicap accessible and ugly, though I don’t think we’re mentioning that last bit in the proposal.) It really was a fun day-- 12 of us, and as far as I know or can tell, everyone actually likes each other!
Arrived home to find the kidlet dragging around feeling tired, and depressed because she was too tired to go ride. Made and ate dinner, packed up to go to Bible study, went to kiss her goodbye-- and found her lying in bed sobbing. So no Bible study for me... let her cry herself out, talked about how to solve things both short-term (finish homework and get to bed really early tonight, ride tomorrow) and long-term (absolutely say no to weekend plans that don’t let her sleep in one day or the other from now on). She’s fine now, homework is done except for some math I can’t help her on-- but it’s way too late to bother going to the Bible study.
Oh well, at least I’ll be home for the entire Monday Night Football game.
