Nov. 16th, 2002 10:11 pmWell, my momentum on the novel was slipping, and then I took yesterday off entirely because I was ill. Forced myself back into the groove today, but it wasn’t easy. However, I’m up to the point where I can begin developments towards the big finale, so maybe things will begin to flow again. At this point I’ve reached several conclusions:
1. I’m pretty good at this writing stuff.
2. I didn’t have my plot planned well enough.
3. I’d like to go on writing, but at a much slower pace.
On the church front, I’m changing my prelude for tomorrow from what I have listed in the bulletin. I hate doing that, but what I had listed was going to be terribly jarring. Senior pastor prefers that the prelude and opening hymn always be bright and upbeat... but it’s the associate leading worship tomorrow, and the first two hymns are both quiet pieces about peace and calm. I don’t think the Trumpet Processional I’d been working on quite fits! Problem is, I generally have to turn in my music before I get information on the hymns-- makes it tough to really fit anything together. So I’ll tuck the trumpet piece back for a future service, and use a more middle-of-the-road Chorale Prelude instead.
