Odds and ends

Other people’s cats come to the sound of the can opener; with mine, it’s the ice dispenser. Felix loves fresh ice water. Tonight he jumped up and sniffed my water glass, making it clear I needed a refill. The kidlet got it for me, but he sniffed at it and started to walk away. I picked it up, sipped and put it down... and he came back and drank deeply. I feel so special.

We went to the church’s Christmas program tonight; it’s a “Journey to Bethlehem” walk-through with different scenes in rooms throughout the church. The manger scene, complete with live animals, is in the sanctuary; it smells very authentic. I suspect worship tomorrow morning will be rather interesting. The organ is deep in the bowels of the stable, which will still be in place in the morning.

My daughter was one of the three two wise men persons tonight. She did very well-- remembered her lines, spoke slowly and loudly. And she looked very nice in green satin with gold trim!
