Various updates
Feb. 13th, 2003 12:44 pmTooth-- dentist took off the remaining bit of tooth that was trying to shred my tongue, and put in a temporary filling; appointment is set up for getting it crowned.
Sick kid-- is still home, but quite a bit better. She’ll go back to school tomorrow, and then spend the weekend catching up on work. Thankfully she’s only got 4 academic subjects, and we’ve been keeping up on the hardest (math).
Horse-- Recovering slowly, again. This is a bit scary. She has to be worked on by the farrier every 8 to 12 weeks, and just getting a trim is enough to lame her for 3 weeks? We had only just gotten back to full work the week before she was trimmed. This has to be fixed, somehow. Both trainer and vet are convinced that it’s purely muscular, nothing to do with the hooves at all, so we’re going to try giving her muscle relaxants before the next trimming, and probably some stretching work as soon as she’s sound again. Also looking into a dietary supplement for flexibility.
