kayreI got up promptly this morning, managed to stay awake when hubby and kidlet left, got totally organized, and headed out for practice and errands 45 minutes earlier than usual.....
And hit glare ice a couple miles from home, and slid off the road. I’m fine, the car is fine. Well, I’m half frozen because I ended up stuck with the rear end of the car almost sticking into the road, and I was afraid to sit in it for fear another slider would hit it.
I had cleverly forgotten my cell phone, but the first person to stop turned out to be an EMT who checked me out (shocky, nothing worse), and loaned me both phone and phone book. Probably two thirds of the vehicles to pass me stopped or slowed until I waved them on.
So I’m home for a few minutes to calm down, and pick up the cell phone... and then, after practice, I’m trading cars with hubby so I can have the SUV for the stable trip. (Side benefit: watching a courting pair of cardinals at my feeder; he is feeding her peanuts.)
