Well, the vet visit wasn’t as encouraging as I hoped, but we do have permission to start working Whisper a bit and “see how it goes.” He did confirm our suspicion that the root of the problem is in the stifle (front part of the horse’s hip, for the non-horse folk, but it functions more like a knee). However, since both flanks are tender after 5 weeks of rest, there’s a lot of concern about exactly what the injury is (sprain? displacement of some type?). So I’ve authorized x-rays, which may get taken today, or maybe later in the week. Keep the good thoughts coming, please.
