Apr. 10th, 2003 01:56 pmFeeling better today. Spent the morning practicing. Music for Sunday is fun. Palm Sunday gives me a chance to be a bit more upbeat than I have during Lent, at least to begin the service-- nice light trumpet piece. Offertory is much darker, but a favorite of mine, and for postlude I’ve got a Pachelbel fugue with a repeated-note motif which many composers use to allude to the Crucifixion.
Next, bank and grocery. Then home, where I started laundry (third load is in the washer now), cooked lunch and loaded appliances for dinner (beef burgundy and French bread). Now I have an hour to mostly put my feet up until I pick up the kid; then we go to the stable, where I’ll have to sit in the sunshine for an hour next to an apple orchard just beginning to bud... dang! It’s tough, but somebody’s got to do it, right?
Whisper is working nicely this week-- cantering smoothly on both leads, a good sign that the hock muscles are healed. She’s due for the farrier next Monday; I’m crossing my fingers, but terribly afraid it’s too soon. However, if we wait too long, we risk other problems (like kicking herself with her overly-long back hooves, which could mean no exercise at all) so we have to try it. We’ll be starting muscle relaxants tomorrow or Saturday to try to help her through it. Good thoughts, please?
