I've noticed, the last few days, that all the female hummingbirds coming to my feeder are fat again. After a bit of research, I've confirmed my suspicions... they lay eggs twice per summer, so they are getting ready to lay that second batch. Some even raise three pairs per summer. Next week they'll probably be looking svelte again! (hmm, I wonder if I'll see any of the newly independent juveniles?)
