The joys of children.....
Aug. 3rd, 2003 02:16 pmOur pastor did a nice job with the children's sermon this morning, explaining how everyone is our 'neighbor' in some special way.
Then a little boy about 10 years old spoke up.
"What about people who aren't nice? What about people in the countries we fight in a war? What about terrorists? Don't they think they're doing what God wants them to do?"
The church got very quiet.... Pastor commented that that's a really big question, and went on to say that yes, those people are our neighbors too. We don't think God wants them to hurt people, so we try to stop them, but they're still God's people and we should pray for them.
Not bad for a student pastor caught off guard!
