The two caterpillars munched two complete leaves overnight, and left me another giant mess to clean up. One of them has climbed to the top of the aquarium this morning, so I expect to have a chrysalis very soon.
One of the eggs has hatched. The new caterpillar is less than 1/8 of an inch long, and looks like a tiny piece of fishing line with a spot of black at one end.
We've found several small patches of milkweed very close to the house, so I'm less worried about feeding them, as long as we remember to make time! And it looks like within a day or two we'll only have a baby or two to feed; #2 is as large as #1, so should also go to chrysalis phase very soon.
