It was a day
Sep. 3rd, 2003 09:48 pmPractice went pretty well this morning. The fugue I've been working on as time permits is about ready for the public-- probably as an offertory later this month.
Planned to walk next, and suddenly realized I was closer to Grand Mere than to our usual park, so I did two miles on the dunes and beach. Saw a cute little snake, 8 inches long, brown with black diamonds... deer tracks, fox tracks... two new water birds, which I think are probably different species of tern. (o/` to everything, tern, tern, tern....o/~ [okay, it's been a LONG day]).
Showered and ate lunch (curried rice, yum!). Then off to South Bend for shopping, mostly for fabric for the next set of paraments. Just two piano lessons today; both went very well. Raced home for church choir, where I found I was the entire tenor section-- pretty bad since I'm an alto helping out on tenor! At that point the choir consisted of me on tenor, two basses, one soprano, and 6 altos! A few latecomers drifted in to improve the balance a bit. I'm hoarse from singing in the low range for 90 minutes.
