Jan. 27th, 2004 10:03 amLast night I was determined not to ask hubby to go to the stable with the kid (roads are way too bad for an inexperienced driver). I was feeling so tired that I didn't cook, so we went out for dinner-- and by the end of the meal, he insisted that I looked way too tired for the drive. So I took the Honda and headed into town for a couple of quick errands. He was probably right about my tiredness-- I missed a turn and was well into Benton Harbor (rather than suburban St. Joseph) before I realized my mistake. That led me past the St. Joe library, though, which had one of the novels I've been hunting, so it was serendipitous.
Freezing rain started falling before I got home and continued for several hours (hubby and kid made it safely home). Then add 5 inches of fresh snow on top of that-- the roads are a mess today. I drove the kid to school, stopped at a grocery, and came back home. It's not worth 5 miles of country roads to go practice. Wish I could just hibernate, but I"ll have to go out to pick her up, and again for Peace Partners. Don't know if I'll walk in the park, or just around the neighborhood.
