Walking at the mall does have a few advantages. I can walk fast, on the smooth level surface, and I walk the same path every time, so I can track my pace. 10 months ago, when I started walking to rebuild my ankle, it took me 15 minutes to walk a 1/2 mile lap, and I could only do a mile total. This week I've consistently done a lap in just under 11 minutes, for a full 2 miles a day. Nice to really see the progress.
But I'm very tired of walking around in circles in the mall. I think tomorrow I'll do at least a mile in the park, even if it is bitterly cold, and then do more at the mall later. I need to see my river, and the animal tracks, and the woodpeckers....
