A couple of recent nature pics

I'm slowly but surely getting better pictures of the kingfishers, though still not one that truly satisfies me. It helps that this is territory fight season, so they are a bit more concerned with each other than with the crazy person with the camera.



This adorable little downy woodpecker landed on a tree ten feet from me, and stayed for nearly a minute while I moved around snapping pics-- a rare opportunity!
