Summary: People are created to be part of a community of people of God-- specifically, of course, a church. A church family: identifies you as a genuine believer; moves you out of self-centered isolation; helps you develop spiritual muscle; keeps you from backsliding.

My thoughts: One of the scripture references either completely wrong or utterly inappropriate. Some fuzzy use of paraphrases too.

For once I basically agree-- fellowship with other believers really is important. But Warren pushes the point so hard that I find myself wanting to resist. The fact that the chapter includes both a commercial for his other book, and yet another threat of hell (if you’re not in a church, you’re open to Satan!) doesn’t help.
