Yes, another heron picture. Startled him twice. Usually after that I'll leave him alone, but there was a dog headed towards him, so I flushed him one more time, and caught this picture as he took off again.
There's a fungus among us.
Lots of mushrooms, since it's been cool and wet lately.
I love this picture-- it's a juvenile green heron. They're very very shy, so I'm proud of this.
There was also a raptor of some sort hunting along the channel; got one fuzzy pic, hoping my sister can help me ID it. It's definitely NOT a redtailed hawk, for once.
