Nov. 21st, 2004 01:34 pmI got more positive comments about something I played this morning than I've ever gotten on one piece of music. What was this exciting piece I played?
The first phrase of the Ohio State University fight song.
(There's a good bit of friendly rivalry over sports, including both college and pro football, and it sometimes slips into church for a moment. I was warned in advance that several OSU alumnae were going to turn in a prayer card offering 'condolences' to Michigan fans after OSU beat Michigan yesterday, so when that was read, I played my bit. Caused considerable laughter, which is a good thing, generally.)
Other music went well, though I found it oddly difficult to focus. I'd be in the middle of a piece, and find myself thinking about email I needed to send later, or my grocery list, etc.....
