This evening we revisited my favorite park; both fledglings were in a tree, claiming to be hungry despite evidence (on the ground below) of a hearty meal. Typical teenagers!
Earlier in the day, though, I visited the kidlet's college, which is surrounded by both manmade and natural ponds, so today is waterfowl day.
Still no herons in my favorite park, but this scruffy young male showed up just a few miles away.
This goose is nested right up against the school building, only 15 feet or so from a very busy entrance. Papa goose tells everyone to keep on the path and leave mama alone!
This next pic was taken at great risk oflife and.. well, limb, anyway. What you can't see is papa swan, off to the left, swimming straight towards me very purposefully. I snapped three pics and then ran like a bunny just before he reached the shore at my feet!
