kayreOwl update-- the younger fledgling is still hanging around; eating quite well, as evidenced by several nicely formed pellets (think owl hairballs, made of fur, feathers and bones of his prey) and a heap of rabbit fur under his favorite tree.
These flowers are only about 1/4 inch across, the whole cluster barely an inch.
Turtles were fighting for sunbathing space.
Think this is a killdeer; not home to grab my books and verify.
I love this green jack-in-the-pulpit! I'm not sure if it's a variant color, or just newly opened.
This more typically colored jack-in-the-pulpit reminds me that 'jack' is a euphemism for.... well, you figure it out!
