
Geese raise their babies cooperatively. We've been watching the park's little flock grow, and noticed that one pair of geese were hovering near the edge of the group. Today they're finally part of the group-- with the youngest babies of all.

Haven't found the nest, but we did see a redheaded woodpecker.

As we walked tonight, I commented to the kidlet that "I'm surprised we haven't seen any deer, after walking at dusk every night." Seconds later we turned a corner, and saw this yearling ahead of us. Sorry it's fuzzy, not enough light, but it was neat anyway.
