My mother-in-law's wedding gift to me was an Oster Kitchen Center. It's basically a big stand mixer, but you can remove the top and attach other things. Hubby's brother got married the same year, and received the same gift. For the first few years we were married, Oster attachments were the obvious Christmas gifts. I have the blender, and a chopper/grinder, and a pasta maker. And sometime someone gave me an ice cream maker attachment. I never used it; kept meaning to give it away but never got around to it.

It surfaced last week, while unpacking, and suddenly my brain said "Hey, sorbet in cool flavors! For less than $4 per pint!" Couldn't find the manual, but Oster was good enough to send me another.

I've just had my first taste of homemade orange sherbert. Heavenly, even before hardening in the freezer. I think it's going to be a delicious summer!
