I'm pretty sure I haven't posted my reading list for several months, so here's March through May. I was so busy, the list isn't too terribly long!

MARCH
re- Zen Keys Thich Nhat Hanh zen
First few chapters are excellent; history of zen less interesting

#16 Beulah Land Krista McGruder fiction short stories-- very harsh, cynical

#17 The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers Lilian Jackson Braun fiction okay but 2nd in a row with really weird jarring events at end

#18 Reading Between the Recipes Leslie Land nonfiction
New England cooking newspaper columnist-- fun!

#19 Garlic and Sapphires Ruth Reichl nonfiction Very Good Book-- interesting, powerful, go read it!

#20 The Snow Bride Debbie Macomber fiction light romance-- fun, decently well written

re- The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern L.J. Braun fiction
fun-- amazing the changes Qwill goes through in the first books

#21 The Ladies of Covington Send Their Love Medlicott fiction excellent! three older ladies who are complete people!

#22 A Covington Christmas Joan Medlicott fiction better than most Christmas novels!

re- The Cat Who Turned On and Off Braun fiction
fun, maybe one of the better ones

APRIL
re- The Cat Who Played Brahms Braun fiction
definitely a fun one

#23 The Gardens of Covington Medlicott fiction
excellent-- she loves to explore relationships of all types

#24 The Spirit of Covington Medlicott fiction
also excellent but occasionally preachy

#25 The Days After the Wedding Medlicott fiction more preachiness but still a good read

re- The Dolphins’ Bell McCaffrey fiction
eh--okay if you like Pern, but no meat, predictable plot

re- The Anything Box Zenna Henderson fiction short stories-- many very dark, but very good read

MAY
re The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Mark Twain fiction What can I say? Classic, fascinating.

re The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Mark Twain fiction another classic

#26 Miss Alcott’s Emails Kit Bakke mixed very creative mix of fictional emails and historical essays-- fun!

re On the Banks of Plum Creek Laura Ingalls Wilder fiction? comfort re-read.

#27 Under Orders Dick Francis fiction Some people think Dick’s wife has ghost-written his last few novels. Not this one, it’s very much his style. Good read!
