Since we moved here, squirrels have travelled across our yard from tree to tree, but to get to the birdfeeder I have hanging in the pear tree, they had to come down to the ground and dash across. This week they've discovered that this year's new growth makes it possible to leap to the pear tree from the next tree-- by making a leap of faith to the very tips of the pear branches and then scrambling up. It's fun to watch!



I'm not sure what kind of tree this is, but apparently those are tasty little seeds!
