My pic of the day is this adorable little jack'o'lantern lurking in the grass.
The real pic of the day was, sadly for me, taken by my daughter. Pileated woodpecker! In our backyard! And-- sigh-- I was asleep. But I'm glad he was there, and glad she's finally seen one.
