Happy Thanksgiving!

kayreHappy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating it today-- and to those who are not, may you enjoy the blessings of your day anyway.
I've got banana bread (for snacking) and a pecan pie in the oven. We do an evening meal for the big one, and we've got a wild turkey breast rather than a whole bird, so the big cooking frenzy won't begin until around 3:00. Then there will be spiced sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry from the can, and a unique green bean casserole (no soup!) that we're trying for the first time. Lots of food for just the three of us!
It's ugly and gray but I may go for a walk in a bit anyway. Meanwhile I am watching all the delightful birds on my deck, and the parade on tv, and chattering with family and friends, and feeling very thankful indeed.
