Nov. 29th, 2002 09:33 pmNot too bad, overall.
We always stop at a hotel the night before Thanksgiving, to make the drive a bit easier. We managed to land in the one tiny hole in Ohio with no local AOL access, I think... but on the other hand, the pool and hot tub were the perfect temperature to let me switch from one to the other, thus prolonging the delights of the hot tub.
Thursday was just as crowded as I feared, but only until midafternoon. I was amused to note that one of the other relatives ducked out for a walk, looking almost as overwhelmed as I felt. But four relatives left before supper, and hubby, kidlet and I popped over to my sister’s work to say hello to her. Have a fun present for a young boy at the stable as a result-- a raccoon skeleton for him to use as a science project (sister is head naturalist at a park nature center).
Today we drove down to see my brother and niece, went to the Bond flick together; tomorrow we go home, hopefully with a car full of Mikesell’s barbeque potato chips and canned Cincinnati chili, neither of which we can obtain in the wilds of southwest Michigan.
Nano wordcount is 48226, and I’ve begun the concluding chapter; will finish on the drive home tomorrow, most likely. Definitely by midnight tomorrow!
